MEET NORTHLAND
The "Nursery on Prairie" has been the longest-operating plant nursery in the Inland Northwest for over 30 years. Founded by local landscaper Jay Decker in 1989, it aimed to fill the gap in commercial-grade landscaping supplies. Jay and his wife, Diana, focus on providing high-quality plants and materials to assist local contractors and empower homeowners in creating their dream gardens.

Northland Nursery has become the go-to place for expert advice on diverse elevations, soil types, and microclimates in North Idaho and Spokane County. With decades of local experience, the knowledgeable staff can help with landscape design and maintenance. Partnering with top vendors in the western U.S., Northland offers high-quality perennials, shrubs, trees, soil, and more. To support individual homeowners who need plants and materials, delivery services are available throughout North Idaho, south to Latah County, and west to Spokane County.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Northland continued serving individuals and landscape companies. At the end of that challenging year, Jay Decker decided to retire but chose Lisa Christensen, a 25-year team member and General Manager, to take over the business. In early 2022, Lisa and Anthony Christensen purchased the nursery, while Jay remains on-site to share his knowledge and skills. Northland is committed to providing quality products, expertise, and customer care. We invite everyone to visit our 10-acre property at Prairie Avenue and Highway 41 in Post Falls.
